Alex Sapir Appointed President of the Sapir Organization
NEW YORK- Alex Sapir has been appointed president of The Sapir Organization, announced Tamir Sapir, chairman of The Sapir Organization. In this executive position, Alex Sapir will oversee new project development building upon the company’s current 7 million square feet of prime commercial New York City real estate.
The Sapir Organization is a family owned, multinational New York based real estate company, with over 7 million square feet of prime Manhattan commercial office space. The company’s holdings include 11 Madison Ave, 100 Church Street, 2 Broadway, 260-261 Madison Avenue, 384 Fifth Ave, as well as two converted residential buildings 50 Murray Street and 53 Park Place, among other properties located in lower Manhattan.
"I’m extremely pleased that Alex will be assuming a leadership role in the real estate business we have built as a family over the past decade. I am confident he will do an excellent job in helping the company to continue to grow," Tamir Sapir said.
Alex Sapir is already a strong company leader. Mr. Sapir has worked with Chairman Tamir Sapir, S. Lawrence Davis and Robert Ivanhoe of Greenberg Traurig to create SDS Investments LLC, a private equity real estate fund that acquires and repositions real estate in leading markets, including New York, Las Vegas and Miami. SDS Investments LLC recently acquired 15 William Street, a potential new residential condominium development in lower Manhattan’s financial district. In an effort to encourage the emergence of the area into a residential neighborhood, SDS Investments LLC plans to create 320 luxury homes in the building and surrounding neighborhood.

Mr. Sapir attended Hofstra and Fordham Universities and studied law in the United Kingdom at Middlesex University. He is active in philanthropic causes, including the NY Association for New Americas, the American Opera Theater Company, the Russian Gift of Life, Inc., Starlight Children’s Foundation and the Russian Children’s Welfare Society and Scholarship Fund. He is also a member of the board of trustees of the Madison Square Park Conservancy.
